Strong, vibrant communities require quality education and associated services to support young people. The current Seymour group of government schools—Seymour East PS, Seymour PS, Seymour Special School, Seymour Technical High School along with representatives from other sectors involved with the development and education of young people have entered into an exciting partnership called ‘The Seymour Regeneration Project’. This project is a rare and significant opportunity for educators and the broader community of Seymour to engage in thoughtful debate about the future direction of education in Seymour. Key features of this discourse will involve the development by educators, in partnership with the community, of a coherent narrative about the delivery of twenty first century learning for the current and future generations of young people in the Seymour community.
Opportunities like this don’t come along every day. The need for these discussions is further exemplified by the unprecedented funding for capital expenditure being provided through the Federal government’s Economic Stimulus Package (ESP) and the Victorian Schools Plan. Already significant funding announcements have been made in relation to this project. The decisions that we take today about the provision of education in Seymour are significant. It is therefore important that everyone with a view and interest in Seymour and its future take the time to be informed about the Regeneration Project and offer constructive input. The development of this website is a key strategy in informing and engaging stakeholders and the broader Seymour community about this significant project.

ClarkeHopkinsClarke Architects was established in 1961 as an architectural practice and has always had a strong focus and interest in the design of innovative educational facilities around Victoria.  The Practice’s continued involvement in school design has enabled us to develop a unique depth of experience and understanding which is a valuable resource on all projects we are involved in. Our perceptions of the needs of the future and understanding of the developing educational philosophies are reflected in an innovative approach to educational facility design.
